I find it amazing how your children can grow up right before your eyes. I have loved watching my youngest grow up and bring two of the most precious things into this world, our M&m's. And I'm so proud of the mother she has become.
I know turning 30 has a sort of stigma to it. If only we could know at 30 what we know at 50...or 56 :) Age is only a number. I remember turning 30 but I don't believe it was as traumatic as turning 40. By the time I turned 50, I didn't care anymore. Just give 30 a chance, Amber. I think you'll like it!

Comfort on difficult days, smiles when sadness intrudes, rainbows to follow the clouds, laughter to kiss your lips, sunsets to warm your heart, hugs when spirits sag, beauty for your eyes to see, friendships to brighten your being, faith so that you can believe, confidence for when you doubt, courage to know yourself, patience to accept the truth, Love to complete your life.
For Christmas, I made my girls "lucky stars." Lucky stars are strips of paper on which a message is written and then the strips are folded and shaped into stars.
I made each of my girls 52 stars..one for each week for the next year.
Amber opened her first star this week. It said "I wish you love."

p.s. this post wouldn't be complete without a little Maddie story. The girls are coming here for supper tonight. I asked Amber what she wanted. She said tater-tot casserole. Well, when Maddie was here last weekend, I said,"your mommy said she wants tater-tot casserole for her birthday supper but I don't think that's a very special meal, do you?" Maddie said, "tacos, mommy loves tacos. I don't like tacos but I would eat them for mommy's birthday." love her. So we're having tater-tot casserole AND tacos. yum.
