The Santa Express

On Thanksgiving weekend, grampa and I decided to surprise the girlies with a trip to the North Pole on the Santa Express. We had supper at Hickory Park and then headed to Boone. When we got there, the train station was packed full of people and we were even a half hour early! We got in and got our tickets and then stood in line waiting for the conductor to let us on the train.

Miss Maci is such a stinker.  She would not look at the camera!

Ha!  Gotcha!

Maddie was happy to pose.  The girls wore their jammies and took their favorite blankies for their ride to the North Pole.

We crossed the Kate Shelley bridge... 190 feet above the Des Moines River.  I was so thankful it was dark and we couldn't see how high we were!

We got to the North Pole.  And you can imagine who was waiting for us there!

Some passengers anxiously awaiting you-know-who

Here he comes!

What blue eyes you have, Santa!

All the good boys and girls got a bell.
Of course, only those who BELIEVE could hear its jingle.

We then headed back to Boone with hot cocoa and cookies.
