Well, I will do anything for my girlies so I invited them over and we made Nana's cookies and I was right...it was hard and I hate baking cookies! Even so, it was fun, messy, stressful, hilarious, sticky, and the start of a yearly tradition!
I whipped up the cookie dough in the morning and by afternoon, we were ready to roll...literally.
I helped the girls get started and we rolled, cut, baked and frosted. It didn't take long for them to get a bit bored with the whole process and eventually wanted to just "play" with their dough.

I found that Maddie is the messy one... she had flour everywhere, sugar everywhere, frosting on everything, and wanted to taste every cookie she frosted!
Maci was a bit more deliberate. She knew exactly what she wanted to do and wanted no help doing it!
Maci's base frosting color was yellow {because that's my favowit color, gramma!}. The girls also discovered that red hots are just that - RED HOT! One taste and they had me running {HURRY, GRAMMA!)}to the kitchen for water!
Grampa pooped out on the picture taking and by the time we were done, he was sawing logs on the couch. We had to take our own picture - 20 pictures later and we had one fairly good one!
And here they are....
I BELIEVE they are almost as beautiful as Nana's ♥

such a good gramma! lucky little gals!
You need a pc pastry mat. NO FLOUR! Eli can't believe there is no mess when we do our cookies. The mat is perfect for rolling cookie dough.
Lori- the mess is half the fun! Besides we are doing it the "nana" way :)
Boy, those remind me of my childhood cookies... any childhood memories!
