Who Am I Meant to Be?

I love "O" - The Oprah magazine. This month, there is an article "Who Am I Meant to Be?" I love quizzes that you can take that will tell you what you're like - as if you don't already know.

This article was a quiz and I took it. I know deep down I'm not meant to be a cancer registrar for the rest of eternity... or am I?

This quiz was based on "personality science." There are seven "striving styles" or modes of thought and behavior that direct us to seek satisfaction in different ways. Even though most people have one striving style that dominates, most people have two or three. I found that I have two - Striving to Be Creative and Striving to Be Knowledgeable.

I love being creative. I love the arts. I love making jewelry, I love blogging, sewing, and making things. Is it creative to read? No, I think that falls under my other striving style.

My second style is Striving to be Knowledgeable. Two statements are SO me. "Social validation isn't your goal - you're secure enough in your cerebral pursuits." CEREBRAL PURSUITS?! Okay, so social validation isn't my goal. The other statement was "Any situation that allows you to work independently with the freedom to investigate and innovate will fuel your drive."

My job as a cancer registrar allows me to work independently. That is one of the things I love about my job.

I am who I am and I am who I'm meant to be! I just didn't know it! I believe personality is something you are born with and that personality determines who you ultimately become.

I believe we are destined to be who we are whether we like it or not.
I believe I like my destiny.
